The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.

Spartan Race can help you tackle your doubts

Although Obstacle Racing has become a prevalent staple in the sporting world today, there’s no denying that it still takes quite a bit of bravery to take the plunge and commit to completing your first Spartan. No doubt you’ve seen the photos of friends jumping fire and splashing through mud, and you’ve witnessed first hand the epic bruises, cuts, scrapes, and even injuries sustained by your Spartan addicted acquaintances. You’ve asked yourself, "Why do they do this to themselves time and time again? What’s the allure?" Yet something inside you keeps tugging at your mind, pulling you toward the unknown. I distinctly remember that feeling — the uncertainty, the butterflies, the fear of the unknown. When we finally take the plunge, embrace the fear, and embark on our first Spartan adventure, in that moment we truly awaken a zest for life that only the Spartan experience can evoke.

Always do what you are afraid to do.

- Ralph Waldo Emerson

Grab a friend and run your Spartan Race together

I’ve heard it time and time again from people of all shapes, sizes, and athletic backgrounds, "I don’t know if I could do something like that", "I’m concerned I can’t do the obstacles", and "I’m scared I’ll get hurt". Their thoughts are part of a battle of conflict which oscillates between hope and worry, curiosity and dread. There’s no denying that the unknown can be extremely daunting to the novice racer. The thought of scaling walls, traversing slick monkey bars, and climbing seemingly impossible ropes undoubtedly strikes a certain level of fear into the hearts of those who have yet to endure them. However in these moments of apprehension we can truly rise above the fears that hold us back from achieving great things, and we can step into the unknown to take on our doubts and fears with a heart full of courage and the resolve to never give up.

Thinking will not overcome fear but action will.

- W. Clement Stone
