Riversands The Warrior Race Rookie 2017-11-25
Rookie is all about fun and comradery. It is the shortest distance with the easiest obstacles. You will be crawling, climbing and jumping your way through the course – running is not even required! The Rookie race is a great opportunity to challenge your friends and colleagues to try something out of the ordinary – and a little bit muddy. Although the main focus is on obstacles that are fun, we have thrown in one or two that will challenge you mentally and physically.
For those with a competitive side, the Elite category requires individuals to race against one another to win prizes from our sponsors. All obstacles have to be completed in order to not be disqualified. No teams or assistance with other participants is allowed.
06h30 – Gates and Registration open
07h30 – Event Opening and build-up
07h50 – Black-Ops Batch 1 race briefing
(Please note: Each batch will be briefed before the start of their race)
08h00 – Black-Ops, Commando and rookie Batches commence in 10min intervals. Bratz races start.
16h00 – Race cut-off. All participants still on course will be escorted back to the venue.
17h00 – Close of race day
- Warrior Rookie: 2 USN water points
- Warrior Commando: 3 USN water points
- Warrior Black-Ops: 5 USN water points
Commando and Rookie Elites receive products prizes from our sponsors and Black-Ops Elite win prize money.
Beer garden with music and entertainment. Great variety of food and drink stands to cater for all tastes.
You can participate in the Standard Rookie race as a solo participant or in a team of up to 8 people. The “standard” Rookie category, whether you are in a team or a solo participant, allows you to skip an obstacle if you cannot/don’t want to do it (there is a burpee penalty if you do this).
Spectator fee is R30 for all non-participating adults and children. (Children under 3 years: FREE)
The Spectator pass can be purchased on race day at the entrance at the Spectator pay-point.
An open air clean-up zone will be available where you can wash off most of the mud. Men’s and Ladies dressing rooms will also be available. Please note that this is a rinse-off zone so please be considerate by not spending too much time under the showers.
A secure, managed safekeeping facility will be available to participants on a first-come-first-serve basis. Please note that we take absolutely no responsibility for any items or belongings at the event that are not booked into the locker zone. You can leave your keys, wallets, cell phones and tog bags with us for safekeeping. Regrettably, children and grandparents cannot be left with us. Cost: R30
