Miami Terrain Race 5k 2018-03-17
How hard is this?
Our obstacles are designed so you can conquer them on your own but it's always nice to have a teammate help push you over these huge walls. Even the competitive athletes will struggle and instead of a penalty when you can't conquer an obstacle, you just keep trying until you do! For open waves it's fine to skip an obstacle, but the competitive will be disqualified if they do.
Want to race more than once? For an extra $15 you can run as many laps as you want. This is great if you want to race the Competitive wave and then again with family or friends new to obstacle races. You'll get a special wrist sweatband and each lap you complete you'll collect a monkey pin so you can brag after the race.
Where's the map?
Part of the difficulty is we won't post a map until race day! With surprises around the corner the race becomes more challenging but we will have a huge map for you to study right before the start cannon goes off.
Early waves fill up fast, register now before the spots are gone! If you’re trying to join a friend in a wave that is already full, ask them to create a team and when you join their team you can race at the same time they are.
The Competitive waves have prize money and cost $15 extra.
Early waves are super popular and cost more, but don't worry, the later waves are just as good!
Every event will have aid stations along the course with water only. You may need to bring your own energy gels and food, but water will be available every 1-2 miles on the course.
- 1 slick race with 20+ obstacles
- chip-timed results and access to a finisher certificate for those in the 8 o'clock waves,
- free gear check during the event,
- free access for spectators to cheer you on (Tucson event only allows 2 free spectators)
- a sweet Terrain Race event shirt
- a finisher medal that is only available after crossing YOUR finish line
- free showers and changing tents
- and the most important thing…bragging rights!
The fastest female and male athletes in the Competitive 5k and 10k distance will be awarded cash prizes.
There will also be a slick after party with additional food and beverages for purchase as well as our great announcer and music! And if one shirt isn’t enough, we’ll have a store packed full of shirts, hoodies, shorts, socks, flip flops, and just about everything you need for a new set of clothes since yours are too dirty!
You can race on a team or solo, but mud runs with friends are so much more fun!
When signing up you will have the option to create a new team or join one.
We create a finish area that includes many exciting obstacles for spectators to watch their family and friends on. There is no fee for spectators.
Parking is $10 per vehicle, please carpool and bring cash.
Terrain is about families and friends and working together to conquer this course.
Kids 7-15 years old can race the 5k course at a discounted rate: simply choose the 5k option and you'll save money at registration if you're under 16.
Kids 7-13 years old must have a parent race with them on the 5k course and the parent will need to buy a regular 5k entry.
Mini Monkey Course
Even younger kids can compete on a half-mile course for ages 2-10 years old. One adult can run along the course to cheer their youngster on. You'll see several wave times available for the Mini Monkey race at each race we host.
